How Do We Make the Best AirBNB in Thailand?

January 31, 2022/2 Comments/in Discover Trat, Home & Garden/by Perry Stevens

Should We Start an AirBNB in Thailand?

We are thinking of converting Thinglish Kitchen into an AirBNB. It’s been sitting idle since the government’s response to the ‘rona’ killed foreign and domestic tourism in Thailand along with scaring the living daylights out of the locals.

The kitchen has been closed all this time but fortunately we’ve invested our time into the art of craft chocolate making. We now grow cocoa trees, ferment the beans, dry, roast, crack and temper the chocolate and make delicious chocolate, cocoa nibs and husk tea. If you are interested to learn more, visit our other website AnarchyChocolae.com.

So now we don’t have time to run a full-time restaurant with the space not being constructively used for anything besides growing some greens with aquaponics. We have been discussing the idea of converting the space, a generous 6 x 6 meters into a modern studio with all amenities including Wi-Fi into the best AirBNB in Thailand.

Converting a Family Restaurant into an AirBNB Destination

AirBNB Thailand

The place sits back from a quiet country road in Khao Saming next to our sacred lotus flower pond. It has a small, private tropical garden with palm trees, bamboo and a lovely, grassed area to enable guest to site in quiet contemplation.

It has a gated entrance and gravel walkway lined with Bird of Paradise, Praying Hand banana, cocoa and Pong-Pong trees. It’s perfect for nature lovers as there are many nesting birds, tree frogs and other beautiful wildlife regularly visiting the garden.

AirBNB Thailand Guest Excursions

Staying at our homestay doesn’t have to be a total chill experience (unless that’s what you want). If you are looking to broaden your horizons and explore by foot, bike or car, there is plenty to see and do and as your hosts, we would be only to happy to help you get the most out of your local AirBNB so you have a safe and rewarding experience.

  • Take a boat ride down the river and see fire flies?
  • Visit a 1000 rai permaculture open prison
  • Eat at the best Italian restaurant in town
  • See how the local make traditional Thai hats
  • Learn to cook real Thai food
  • Discover empty golden beaches
  • Visit local Buddhist temples
  • Take a farm tour
  • Learn how to make chocolate from the bean to bar

Whatever takes your fancy, we got you covered.

AirBNB Thailand Travel

AirBNB CEO, Brian Chesky says the future of work and travel will boost his company that unfortunately was also negatively hit during the last couple of years of 15 days to flatten the curve.

Instead of staying in big city hotels, the trend is for people to ‘go local’ and try something new like a homestay or farm experience. People instinctively want to stay safe and avoid large crowds, so heading into the country seems like a natural way to reconnect, start an adventure or vacation again.

The sad fact is the once popular beach destinations of Koh Samui and Phuket etcetera will probably take years to fully recover from lockdowns and many businesses will never reopen again. Anyone heading to those destinations will testify that while the beaches have never been so clean, it’s depressing walking past boarded up shop after shop and virtually no bars, clubs or restaurants open.
