Traveling through Doi Mae Salong in Northern Thailand

วันนี้พวกเราจะขึ้น ดอยแม่สลอง
แต่ก่อนออกจากตัวเมืองเชียงราย พวกเราก็แวะไหว้สัการะวัดศักดิ์สิทธิ์คู่บ้าน คู่เมืองเชียงราย คือ วัดพระแก้ว (Wat Phra Keaw)

Today we will go up to Doi Mae Salong.

But before leaving Chiang Rai city, we stopped by to pay homage to the sacred temples of the house, Chiang Rai’s Wat Phra Kaew.

เสร็จก็แวะไหว้พ่อขุนเม็งราย

After finish, stop to pay respect to King Meng Rai.

จากนั้นก่อนที่เราจะขึ้นดอยสลอง พี่แท็กซี่แนะนำให้พวกเราไปไหว้พระธาตุดอยตุง
แล้วเราก็จะไปต่อกันที่ สวนแม่ฟ้าหลวง

From then on, before we get up to Doi Salong the taxi driver advised us to pay respects to Phra That Doi Tung.

Then we will go on Mae Fah Luang Garden.

ที่นี่เข้าห้ามผู้หญิงเข้าไปข้างในนะค่ะ ถามคนแถวนั้นก็ไม่รู้ว่าทำไม ถ้าใครรู้คำตอบบอกพวกเราด้วยนะค่ะ

Here, women are not allowed inside. We ask the people around there but they say they don’t know why. If anyone knows the answer, please tell us.

และแล้วพวกเราก็มาถึง สวนแม่ฟ้าหลวง

And then we arrived Mae Fah Luang Gardens. ช่วงเดือนธันวาคม อากาศเย็นสบาย แต่กินไอติมตอนนี้มันเข้าหรอเนี้ย!!
แต่ “อร่อย” และมีให้เลือกหลากหลายรสชาติ ซึ่งไอติมของที่นี้เขาทำกันเองด้วยนะค่ะ

During December it’s very cool weather, but we’re still eating ice cream right now!!

It’s “tasty” and has a variety of flavours to choose from. The ice cream from this place is made by themselves too.

เมื่อทานกันจนเย็นขึ้นสมองแล้ว ก็ไปเดินเล่นชมความสวยงามของที่นี่กันต่อนะค่ะ

We eat until we’ve cooled the brains, then we continue to walk to see the beauty of this place.

เสร็จจากการเดินชมความสวยงามของดอกไม้นานาพันธุ์
ต่อไปเราจะยังที่พัก ระหว่างทางก็จะผ่านจุดชมวิวต่างๆ และก็ผ่านไร่ชาฉุยฟง แต่พวกเราไม่แวะ เราผ่านไปยังที่พักกันเลยนะค่ะ

Finished walking to see the beautiful flowers.

Next, we will head to our accommodation. On the way we will pass through various view points and passing Choui Fong Tea Plantation. We don’t stop, we pass on through to the accommodation.

ถึงที่พักแล้วนะค่ะ เราพักกันที่ หงษ์ฝู่บูติกรีสอร์ท
อากาศหนาวเย็นได้ใจเลยค่ะ

At the accommodation, we stay at Hong Fu Boutique Resort.

The weather is cool.

ข้างหน้าทางเข้ารีสอร์ท เขามีร้านชาและบริการชิมฟรี

In the front of the resort entrance there is a tea shop with a free tasting service.

เข้าที่พักเก็บของเรียบร้อย เราก็ออกเดินสำรวจบริเวณรีสอร์ท

At the accommodation after we finished storing, we then head out to explore the resort area.

อาหารหลักที่นี่เลยก็คือ หมั่นโถว

The main food here is Mantou.

หนาวๆแบบนี้ต้องกินอันนี้เลย มัน/เผือกเผา

It’ll be cold like this or it’s burnt taro.

ที่นี่สามีชอบมากๆเพราะ เดินไปตรงไหนก็จะเรียกชิมชาฟรี ซื้อไม่ซื้อก็ได้

My husband likes it very much because wherever we walk they have free tea. Can not buy!

พอเริ่มพระอาทิตย์ลาลับขอบฟ้าไป เราก็เดินทางกลับมายังรีสอร์ท
วันนี้ไปไหนไม่ได้มากเพราะกว่าพวกเราจะมาถึงก็ตกเย็นแล้ว

When the sun began to leave the horizon we returned to the resort.

We couldn’t go anywhere today because when we arrived it was already late.

ได้เวลาอาหารมื้อเย็น
แน่นอนว่าขึ้นมาถึงดอยแม่สลอง อาหารมื้อแรกที่นี่ก็คงจะหนีไม่พ้น
ซุปเยื้อไผ่, ผัดผักปวยเล้ง, หมั่นโถวและพระเอกของคืนนี้ก็คือ ขาหมู นั่นเอง :)
แต่ต้องระวังนิดนึงเพราะอาหารที่นี่เขาให้เยอะมาก ลองสั่งสักไม่กี่อย่างมาลองดูก่อนเนอะ

Time for dinner

Of course, coming up to Doi Mae Salong. The first meal here would be inevitable.

Bamboo Soup, Stir-fried Pueblo Leng, Mantou, and the hero of tonight is pork legs. :)

But we have to be a little careful because the food here is plentiful. We start ordering a few things to try first.
